Review: When they announced that Spy Kids 4 was on the way, I had mixed feelings. Yeah, it was cool to see another Spy Kids movie on the way and as the cast was locked into place, seeing Alexa Vega and Darryl Sabarra coming back was a total blast. Then it started to get a bit worrying with news of the gimmick of smell-o-vision being used to try and sell this one.

The end result? A big mess. On the plus side, the effects and the 3D in this are better than they have been in previous outings. There is some fun to be had seeing Juny and Carmen come back as grown up Spy Kids and there are some nice little links to the original trilogy. The new Spy Kids are kinda fun but not as cool or engaging as the original two and Jessica Alba is pretty game to put up with some of the crap shes put through here. And some giggles can be had from Ricky Gervais spy dog and Jeremy Pivens multiple appearances.

That said, the smell-o-vision thing is just plain distracting (granted, its not overdone and is largely confined to the starting 20 minutes) with the large numbers flashing on screen and beeping to make sure you actually do scratch and sniff. The comedy is far too heavy handed and relies more on poop and fart jokes than in previous outings and is aimed strictly at the lowest common denominator, talk about dumbing down! And the message is hammered home with all the finesse and subtlety of sledgehammer to the crotch. There are numerous times where the whole “spend time with your kids/parents” is said direct to camera and after about the third or fourth time, it gets preachy.

Its a shame that Robert Rodriguez felt the need to restart the series with such a lame and heavy handed mess, given just how much fun the first three had to offer. And, on a personal note, I was gutted to see that Uncle Machete was relegated to a blink and you miss him cameo after being built up so well. Aah well, Im guessing there are plans for another couple movies so theres a chance that it can redeem itself but I think that after this, its gonna have to work hard!

I agree with you on Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D – the first half hour of it was great, actually. tailed off a bit towards end but still a way better film than it should have been

The film Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D is worth it to view. the Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D is so cool. It’s a strangely paced film and suffers at times from incredibly long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt develop the storyline rather than the Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D story that I wanted to see.

The online video is worth it to look at. the motion picture is so awesome. It’s a curiously paced show and suffers at times from surprisingly long exposition and poorly unnatural story lines that seem to be added to no doubt develop the storyline rather than the online video story that I wanted to see.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D combines parts of Pocahontas and Braveheart having a liberal dose of Room Marines into an epic entire that requires practically 3 complete hours to unfold. We could criticise that length, the weak story as well as hammy dialogue. We could attack its thinly-veiled ecological message or even the frankly bizarre spirituality in its second 50 percent but honestly absolutely nothing can spoil the encounter whilst youre enveloped in it. Along with a big component of which is down with the brilliant use of 3D – which can be both subtle and extremely powerful. Til now, we happen to be having films with 3D factors, Avatar stands out as the initially unquestionably 3D movie and could possibly properly prove that they are an individual of a most considerable issues to occur to blockbuster film-making given that Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D.

I thought Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D was interesting, it was a new type of thriller movie, and a smart one as well. After that it all went downhill. I saw 3 movies too many. Now I cannot bear to even watch this movie again, but, apparently there are still people out there that can enjoy a movie like this and I am glad they can.

The movie is worth it to watch. the film is so awesome. It’s a curiously paced show and suffers at times from tremendously long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt cultivate the storyline rather than the full movie story that I wanted to see.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D is a genuinely great movie– disappointing summer aside. It’s more refreshing, perhaps, due to the fact that this season has been so ,minimal, but Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D easily deserves praise all on its own merits rather than by lack of good competition.

I didn’t find it to long, it was at times a little too knowing and even self indulgent but I guess a film like that has to be! It makes my top ten of the year so far. Lets see if it stays there!

The two great things about Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D are the look and the acting. When I say feel I am referring to everything from the costumes and makeup all the way to the photography combining to capture the look of the time perfectly. The soundtrack is also pretty good too as you would expect!

This film was absolutely cool. Already seen it three times. Loved the comics and this was the most satisfying adaptation I’ve ever seen mixed with the directors personal charm and tweaks. Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D was just beautiful to watch and so fun to be a part of as an audience. LOVED IT.
