Review: Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of checking out an early screening of Rango here in the twin cities. It was a blast! This movie was a great deal of fun. The jokes all hit the right marks, the story was solid, sweet and not too formulaic, and the visuals were outstanding.

There were times that this movie looked 100 percent photo real. outstanding job modeling and texturing and lighting on this. the little tiny attention to detail in the world you guys built had my wife and I in awe throughout most the movie. The animation was fun and eccentric. Over the top but at times subtle and felt meaningful. The only little nit pick was the mouths on some of the characters. in the attempt to make the animals look more like the animals they were representing the mouths were quite small and at times the sync was a bit odd. Though it provided for some goofy looking characters that were fun.

at just over an hour and a half, at times it felt it was a little too slow paced. well, that was my wifes critique. I looked at it more so that they were going for the slower feel of some classic westerns. I thought the long stretches of little dialog, epic music and visuals, and great cinematography worked in the films favor.

The crowd dug it too. I think the youngest person in the theater was about 6 and the oldest was probably in their 70s and everyone was engaged.

I was kind of surprised what they could get away with in a PG rated movie. Im no prude or anything, but there were enough adult jokes snuck in there to give me the giggle fits. Couple of lite swear words, references to more, ehem, adult type themes, but overall pretty tame and enjoyable.

Hats off. If this doesnt win awards I dont know what I believe in anymore. This is one of the more entertaining movies I have seen in a long time.

The film Rango is worth it to watch. the movie is so awesome.
I didn’t find it to long, it was at times a little too knowing and even self indulgent but I guess a film like that has to be! It makes my top ten of the year so far. Lets see if it stays there!

This movie was absolutely great. Already seen it three times. Loved the comics and this was the most satisfying adaptation I’ve ever seen mixed with the directors personal charm and tweaks. Rango was just sweet to watch and so fun to be a part of as an audience. LOVED IT.

Rango combines parts of Pocahontas and Braveheart that has a liberal dose of Room Marines into an epic entire that requires just about 3 complete hours to unfold. We could criticise that length, the weak story plus the hammy dialogue. We could attack its thinly-veiled ecological message or even the frankly bizarre spirituality in its second fifty percent but honestly absolutely nothing can spoil the knowledge even while you will be enveloped in it. As well as a great aspect of thats down to your brilliant use of 3D – that is both subtle and amazingly valu able. Til now, we are actually preparing films with 3D components, Avatar is a very first certainly 3D movie and may well properly prove that they are a particular within the most important points to take place to blockbuster film-making seeing that Rango.

I agree with you on Rango – the first half hour of it was great, actually. tailed off a bit towards end but still a way better film than it should have been

I thought Rango was interesting, it was a new type of romantic movie, and a smart one as well. After that it all went downhill. I saw 3 movies too many. Now I refuse to even watch this movie again, but, apparently there are still people out there that can enjoy a movie like this and I am glad they can.

As well as a big aspect of that is certainly down on the brilliant use of 3D – that is both subtle and extremely productive. The film Rango is worth it to see. the Rango is so great. It’s a strangely paced flick and suffers at times from incredibly long exposition and poorly contrived story lines that seem to be added to no doubt develop the storyline rather than the Rango story that I wanted to see.

The two great things about Rango are the look and the acting. When I say feel I am referring to everything from the costumes and makeup all the way to the photography combining to capture the look of the time perfectly. The soundtrack is also pretty good too as you would expect!
